The night is black and starless,
The moon but a sliver of fragile glass.
All sound is still, enthralled by my sorrow.I

My cries of pain slice through the void of night,
Ever single crystalline tear making an echo of a whisper upon air.
I can feel the cold breath of night surrounding me, stinging my eyes.
